FIU campus authors reception at Barnes & Noble

At the FIU Provost's office reception for faculty authors. I got there late (I was on the desk) and was the last one to get my picture taken! Thanks to the campus Barnes & Noble for hosting the reception and purchasing two of my books!

The Dean of Libraries, Anne Prestamo, gave a speech and mentioned both librarians who had books out this last year and the faculty authors book display I had put together the night before! As I was leaving the desk to go to the event, there was already a faculty member looking for the display and happy to find his book there.

Celebrating National Poetry Month

This year I decided to put up a Juvenile poetry display (since the adult display area was already taken up with my FIU faculty authors display, to coincide with the reception) instead.  We had a great Shakespeare bust to make use of, and the juvenile poetry books are colorful and imaginative!  There are poetry books on every theme imaginable, including Big Foot!

Banned Books Week begins today!

To celebrate Banned Books Week, I've created two different displays in the library; one is especially for Banned YA Lit Authors, since YA Lit is the focus of this year's BBW.
